This is absolutely amazing! I have thought of making a movie based on this attraction YEARS ago. And now it's finally being done. My plot is a little different though. Figuring it's a Disney flick, it would have to be focused on kids i'm sure. Mine would be also, but starting off a tad different.

Mine would start the movie in the late 1800s, where the people are having a birthday party for someone *ballroom scene*. They all die due to a mysteryJ*poison*....and in modern days, some ancestor is investigating the house to find out what happened to his or her late uncle or grandparents.....anyway, get the idea. Turns out, the ghosts are someone scary, silly......etc. But the ghost host is the one to basically be the bad guy. He killed everyone to inherit the Mansion's estate money...and now he must pay! anyway, OMG.......I CAN'T WAIT.. MY IDEA HAS BEEN STOLEN IN A WAY! LOL Email me at kkevinm@hotmail.com anyone! put in subject HAUNTED MANSION thanks

I was excited to hear about a movie being made about The Haunted Mansion. It is one of my favorite rides at Disneyland. I am disappointed to hear that Eddie Murphy will be in the movie. The plot will be really dumb now!!

"I always say that if Disney does it, it's going to be lacking"

While this is a bit unfair -- I thought "Lilo & Stitch" was really sweet and funny -- I think it would be really hard to do anything substantial with material like Pirates of the Carribian or Haunted Mansion.

Swell rides, but movie material? Maybe enough for the sort of undemanding, bland features Disney spins out for the G-Rating niche.

I refused to see Country Bears because there was no sign of Big Al in the trailers. At least, not the Big Al I know and love. There may be some impostor in the film, but I know better.

So I'm fearful of The Haunted Mansion. Fearful. Plus, is Paul Frees even alive? (I just checked. He died in 1986.) So, yeah. Who else could possibly Ghost Host it? Eh? No.

Speaking of Disney movies, while watching a tape of "Return to Neverland" with my sister's kids, I saw a awesome trailer for "Treasure Planet," an SF version of Robert Louis Stevenson's "Treasure Island." Man, I hope it's good.

I had such high hopes for the Country Bears movie when I first heard about it. That was one of my favorite shows at Disneyland way back when. But when I finally saw a preview, I was disappointed. No banjos, no Grandpa singing "Blood on the Saddle." It looked more like the Suburban Rock-and-Roll Bears with a little hip-hop thrown in 'cause that's what research showed the 12-18 demographic likes.

The Haunted Mansion was my favorite ride at Disneyland, so I'll only go see the movie if they can put a ghost sitting in the theater next to me!

As the saying in Hollywood goes: "Don't fuck with the Mouse".

I'll only go see this if they promise to base their next film on The Enchanted Tiki Room and hand out free Mai Tais at the door.

I'm sorry, I always say that if Disney does it, it's going to be lacking, and I simply refuse to see it.
For example, I saw a preview at a movie last week for some movie... and it looked really good cinematography/costume wise... until towards the end of the trailer you find out it's a Disney.
My friends laugh because sometimes I see a preview and even if it's not Disney, I'll say "It looks too Disney to me." haha.
Disney movies just invariably are milquetoast.
Bleh.

Everyone should "return" the images at the end of the year.

"a followup to the Country Bears movie (I may be the only adult in the world who enjoyed that one)"

Dang, my girlfriend's 2 y/o daughter didn't even like that one.
