This is great, provided they don't sell the computers for their fix or to pay the heating or grocery bill.

What would be really cool would be an educational program to go along with this to teach the kids being served how to maintain the systems and equipment that are installed in their neighborhoods.

Maybe I'm dense, but best compared to what alternative? If a group (more than one individual) organize their efforts to help, that's an organization, right? Or did you mean something more specific?

This underpins my opinion that individuals and organizations do the best at helping the needy. Whuffie points to the United Way. Now if we could only get WiFi to the paying businesses in Boise.
