There is also supposed to be a Turkish Star Wars from the early 80's as well. I heard it has scenes from the real movie (ship dogfights and FX) with a wierd plot thats fun to watch even with no subtitles.

I would love to find a copy of Turist Omer Uzay Yolunda. I assume there is a video of it somewhere. Any idea how I can view one in the Seattle, WA area?

The Wave has been running a long line of reviews of all the Turkish "homages", from the Turkish Wizard of Oz onwards, all written by seanbaby of Internet fame. It's the best local free mag I've seen since the Onion.

Kuniklo, call Rain City Video, the fremont store(206-545-3539). I know they have Turkish Star Wars, they'd probably dig on getting the Star Trek if they don't already have it.

This movie isn't pornographic (not even soft core). You can order a lot of the Turkish titles mentioned here and elsewhere from http://www.bogazicivideo.com for cheap but do not expect anything more than a nth generation VHS dub or VCD. The film negatives no longer exist for many of these films and copies for sale are sourced from cruddy tape masters or even taken from Turkish television.

About Turkish Star Trek...
I agree that our version's special effects are primitive but you know why? Because it was a first for us and they did a very good job to invent those special effects from scratch. Like TOS did in its time! You are talking about 70s' Turkey here. Believe me that movie was a revolution at that time and you cannot find a similar movie until 2003: Gora. I think you should watch Gora. And you'll see how far we got since the early 70s. Of course, Gora used European special effect resources too, but mainly it was a Turkish production, special effects included.
Finally I think it is important to acknowledge those Turks who did their best in the non-existent sci-fi infrastructure in Turkey back in early 70s. I still watch 30's Universal Flash Gordon.... And I don't blame Americans for primitive effects. I know they did their best at that time. We did our best at our time... So please be more understandable :).
