Too cool. I was in a pub last night where they allowed you to text a line to all the monitors and screens in the building over the top of whatever screensaver or video or visual was up at the time.
After the shoutouts and props died down (by about 10:45) the messages started to become set pieces, skits set up by customers who were preempting an sction performed on one of the dancefloors, jokes and rhymes or comments about clothes and lightsets worn by dancers in the music zones.
All the beermats in the place had the number printed on them, worked in to the graphics on the mat itself.
Some of the ASCII graphics were very clever too, people had worked out how fast the texts scrolled along the bottom of the screen and were timing the characters in the message to come up in time with the music, or were flashing lyrics up in time...
