That was murder and he has to pay. He could very easily have convinced the scammer that they had to meet so more money could be exchanged and then, bam!, shot the scammer.

It wouldn't surprise me if *some* Nigerian consulate personnel were in on *some* of the 419 scams. Perhaps they'd recieve a cut of a scam's proceeds for, say, confirming that there was indeed a General Ifoolyu, and yes, his wife and son are in exile.

I'm not saying the poor bastard who got nailed was in on a scheme, but it's a possibility.
