How is that different from boring old Project Gutenberg?

I think it's the same thing as Gutenberg, just with new momentum and a better base for making it happen, I hope. Why hasn't any talented engineer built a machine which scans closed books by MRI or similar technology, spews the images through OCR and presto magic a digital book is born in the blinking of an eye? If these machines can peel my brain to the micrometer in a hospital they can surely figure out where one page ends and another begins.
