The best deal on the site seems to be the self contained PM-122 fuel cell, which the site claims will generate 12v at 10amps for $250. It won't be available until April or May 2003, though (the page originally stated that the 122 would be ready by December of 2002).
Not a methanol fuel cell though -- it's filled with a saline solution. Is this feasible?

The fuel cell fan is only $109, that's not so bad. Readers might also be interested in Stirling engines, which run on heat. At http://www.stirlingengine.com/ they have some fans that will run on hot water for about $100, and one that runs on the heat of your hand for $300.
