FYI, I chose to deny the Java app this site attempts to load and it absolutely trashed Camino. Bookmarks, favicons, passwords all gone or hopelessly corrupted. I suggest avoiding this link.

Huh? Your browser responds to denying a Java app by trashing all its own prefs, and that's a problem with the *link*?

DrJohn: Wow, that's really ugly behavior. If you answer no to the "do you want to trust this applet" question, the browser by design shouldn't run any foreign code so I'm at a loss for how our applet could have caused this. If you send an email to techsupport@bumperactive.com, we can work with you to see if we can reproduce something for the camino guys. Not that this is going to make you feel any better, but we've been using lots of browsers (Netscape, Internet Explorer (Win & Mac), K-Meleon, and Mozilla and have never had any problem like this.

Hey guys -- cool stuff! Couple of notes:
1. the PNG upload seems to not like PNG files created by The Gimp, or pnmtopng, on linux; had to use a GIF instead.
2. the PayPal payment is made out to "markov_cheney@hotmail.com" -- funny, but might be a little bit worrying for people who didn't get a personal intro from Cory ;)

Who cares? Since I was able to duplicate the behavior there is either bad code on the site or a bug in Chimera, but I don't actually care which it is. Denying a Java app hasn't caused this before and after I checked by going to sites I have previously been to with Java apps I can't replicate the behavior with any of them. Whatever is going on is unique to Chimera and this particular link. The issue doesn't interest me enough to bother working out the details, it is easier to just avoid the link. Like I said, **FYI**.

It has nothing to do with the link. the same mysterious thing happened with my Chimera long ago, but I had no idea what caused it. I guess that's why I use Safari...
