*SIGH* $700 is just cheap enough for me to start financially plotting how to go. Unfortunately, the reality is it's probably still too much for my only-recently re-employed ass.
Get thee behind me Cory!

With the level of hacker-power attending or speaking at this event, O'Reilly can give right-of-first-attendance to those with conference passes, with Paris Metro session pricing for local drop-ins (excluding meals).
Drop-in attendees will increase networking value for full-conference attendees, while filling up seats at below-capacity sessions.
You could also auction the drop-in seats up to the day before the session, possibly in Paris Metro-style blocks of perishability.
Emerging Economics, why not?

Oh that's excellent, thanks Cory!
Aaron's table from last year rocks.

Hey, maybe you guys could put up some page listing all of the live blogs and chat channels covering it?
Or make one where attendants could sign up and list their coverage?

Last year's ETCON had more blogs than any conference I'd ever attended -- as well as live transcripts of the keynotes via IRC, streaming webcams, and lots more telepresence elements.

But will the revolution be blogged? It would be ironic if an emerging tech conference got snippy about bloggers siphoning out the goodies as they happened, but it would be odd if event organisers hoping to shift tickets at a gee a pop didn't get a little nervous about the idea...
I'd be there if I was in the right continent.
