I wish the original Japan Times article included the ISBN of Akiba's book. I've had a hard time tracking down a copy. Anyone have any info on where to buy this without having to run out to Kinukuniya in SF?

technophobe: i don't know how easy it is to buy books published in japan (and in japanese) where you live, but the amazon.co.jp might help you find it. or even order it, if that's less hassle than going to kinokuniya. http://www.amazon.co.jp/exec/obidos/ASIN/4...250-9396379-2693832according to amazon the ISBN is 4896916808 and the publication date was 2002/11. i tried to include the title in kanji but quicktopics turned it to garbage, sorry. you can see it at that page anyway. good luck!

In WW2, people were doing all sorts of nasty experiments in Tokyo. There was a biological warfare laboratory in the middle of town. Really. Before you go down Tokyo Eki with your chisel, bucket, and spade, make sure you've had your jabs.

Enki -- Thank you! I will try to acquire this either from Kinokuniya in SF (about 15 miles from me), or through the Fujisan web site. I'm sure the price here will be much higher, though. I want to buy this for my fiancee, who is Japanese.
