It is funny to read about these drinks as if they were so exotic. I've had Path-Mark brand "cola champan", which was bubble-gum flavored, and bought 2 liter bottles of Guarana from the local Trade-Fair.
The stores these were from were all in NYC. Now that I'm in .ca.us I haven't noticed the lack, but I haven't looked for these things either.

When I visited family in El Salvador, I was surprised to find so many fruity Fanta variants. Coke itself tasted different too. I eventually realized it was because it had sugar, not corn syrup. There was a local brand called Tropical which was Coke-owned - lots of fruit flavors. The oddest thing was Cola-Champan. I'm not sure why they call it champagne - the flavor is somewhere between vanilla and bubble-gum.
And when I recently visited the other half of the family in BoliviaI was shocked to discover that people routinely serve un-chilled gaseous beverages. With ice, granted, but still - who drinks room-temperature soda?

Long-awaited and oh so sorely needed. I myself have a special interest in Brazilian beverages, since I receive many inquiries on my blog about exotic Fanta flavors ...

Here in Vancouver I can get all sorts of Pocky whenever I want (including "Men's Pocky" which is dark chocolate).
