Honestly, I think it's a bit obnoxious to ask people to volunteer an hour or so of their time to obstensibly help a company make money (or try to make money) without compensating them. I mean, this isn't donating blood--it's market research.

I know times are tight, but something--anything--in terms of compensation seems in order. A gift certificate maybe. Otherwise, I really don't see what's in it for people to participate.

hiya,
i'm working with these guys on the research study.
At this point, there is no compensation for the study (start-ups being what they are these days). They are still learning about how this will work and how they will eventually monitor a wider range of devices and media.

But eventually, I think they do intend to compensate people who become a regular part of the media surveys. The goal is to be a lot like the "nielsen homes" that track and influence ratings on TV.

I have two friends who I believe qualify.

I only ask because they inevitably will: what's in it for them?
