EXPEDIA.....What a scam. I hope the people burn in hell for scamming and misleading the public. I have just had two back to back horrible incidents.
They are so complexed that going into them would be just a painful task right now.
Please....please....please do not book a darn thing on EXPEDIA. They will be your biggest nightmare.

I had to cancel an expedia.ca ticket, due to a medical reason. I purchased the ticked 6 months prior, and expedia first said they wouldn't refund anything. Then I told them that their service contract did not specify any restrictions, and the story changed. Now the airline was responsible. The ticket was very expensive (almost 1000 dollars) and I gave it back before the fly date, so why are they fighting me? The airline told me THEY would honor it, so why is expedia holding out?

Anyone else have a similar experience? Please don't flame me, I was hurt in an accident and had no idea that I was supposed to purchase all kinds of travel insurance; in fact, my credit card company was supposed to protect me against this kind of problem, and now they're saying that I had to purchase yet another kind of "special" protection if the trip was canceled, not interrupted? What kind of companies am I dealing with here?

Help. 1000 bucks is a lot of money!!!!!

Don't use it for hotel rooms, either. I had to cut a hotel stay two days short recently because the hotel informed me their wireless internet service "didn't reach the rooms at the ends of the halls." When I attempted to secure my two-day refund through Expedia, they told me there was a one-night room and tax penalty for cancelling mid-stay and that said penalty was being administered by the hotel itself. I contacted the hotel, whose manager informed me they were not penalizing me for anything, but Expedia still attempted to lie three more times and say it was the hotel's penalty until finally I said "Answer this question straight out or I am contacting the Better Business Bureau - who is getting my money once I am penalized: the hotel or you?" They never answered but immediately refunded my credit card for the other night. If you're unfortunate enough to book with them and you experience a problem, don't just take their word for ANYTHING, and don't let them strongarm you into just giving up and accepting a penalty, etc.

Buyer beware when purchasing airline tickets from Expedia. A few days ago I requested tickets for a trip from Monterey, California to Nice, France. After properly completing and saving the online itinery, I called Expedia to complete the payment. The Expedia agent made a written error (one which I could not see) in the begining and destination airport identification . She wrote MTY (Monterrey, Mexico) instead of MRY (Monterey, Ca.) TO CORRECT HER ERROR,I WAS FORCED TO PAY AN ADDITIONAL$200.00 TO FIX EXPEDIA'S MISTAKE.What kind of business philosophy is this?

so, moocow, what is the url for YOUR blog? also, cory, charles says he's always had great customer service from travelocity. in fact, due to a moving snafu, we're having to stay in a hotel tonight. they called us promptly to be sure the card we used for our reservation wasn't stolen since the hotel is in the same city we live in. they also expedited the reservation when he told him we were in the car on the to the hotel. the hotel had everything out on the desk and ready for us. all of this within an hour of logging on. he also said to tell you that orbitz has been good so far, he just hasn't used them a lot.
