Thanks for the clarification. As an SBC DSL customer, they've been sending me increasingly frantic direct mailings warning that I must 'upgrade' to SBC-Yahoo DSL. I never use any Yahoo services, so see zero value in their proposition.

Slimy marketing at its very best. I don't want "added services" or "personalization" as part of my "Internet experience". SBC needs to realize that they are just a bit pipe, nothing more.

Ratz. I made the switch and now I'm worried about the privacy plunderama you referred to, Cory. More on that?

SBC has an ad compaign based on the equation "1 + 1 = 1".

I trust them as little as possible.

I'm a SBC/Yahoo customer and I have to say the amount of stuff they install is ridiculous. The Yahoo software is junk; none of it got loaded in a recent OS reinstall, I just let my Airport handle the PPPoE.

I had Pacbell DSL a year ago. Lovely service. This Yahoo partnership, however, is the worst sort of co-branded marketing crap I've ever seen. They add *no* value to my DSL package, they *detract* from it.
