Holy tempest in a coffee cup, Batman!

I don't particularly have any problem with taxing luxury goods. What I have a problem with is that with truly serious transportation, environmental, social and housing problems looming over Seattle, city councilmembers feel they have the luxury to waste time debating a tax that would raise perhaps as little at $1.8 mil.
