Well, that's the bad news. The good news is that they decided not to do it.

Yes, but it's our duty to feel outraged that they even tried! Get with the program!

'A whack of experts' ... excellent collective, Cory!
Boy that doc's name sure lends itself to some silliness ...

You kind of had to figure somebody would try this at some point. I mean come on, really, what power group out there really WANTS end-to-end, semi-anonymous, near-instantaneous information exchange. This thing is a nightmare to any and every existing power structure out there.
I fully expect more of this kind of thinking in the future. We are currently in a climate where no form of base opportunism should be at all surprising(but should still be vigorously resisted).

At this point, we should just change the name of the Department of Homeland Security to "Department of the Village". We're already in Patrick McGoohan territory as it is: getting out is a pain in the ass, everything's watched with cameras "for your protection", and everyone's too busy watching out for Number One to notice that the command chair is full of Number Two.

It's unfair to call Dr. Stavridou "crooked" and "lying" without hearing her side of the story.

Keep in mind that SRI are the "snake-oil consultants" who employ Peter G. Neumann, moderator (for the last 18 years) of the RISKS digest, and renowned disseminator of anti-snake-oil.
I know nothing about Dr. Stavridou or the rest of SRI, but anyone who supports PGN and RISKS can't be entirely bad.
