Isn't it nice to see a military committee working hard in their spare time to improve our funny pages? I for one salute these great American Humour Heroes! You don't see that pinko Gary Trudeau working within the very cogs of the military-industrial combine to recycle e-mail humor. God bless you Mort Walker. You and Jonny Hart are the last bastions of conformity in a comics page gone horribly wrong!

They solved the blinking 12:00 problem on VCRs a long time ago, guys. The last VCR I bought (a few years ago) would set its clock off a time signal broadcast by the local PBS station. Now, of course, there's TiVo. ;)

=v= Funny Paper sez, and I quote, "Sunday's strip includes seven panels' worth of emoticon gags. --!- is the emoticon for Funny Paper giving Spc. Gizmo the finger."

Hey, I'm still trying to figure out how to get the VCR to stop flashing. I can set up a home network encompassing four different OSes, but that's because modern computer interfaces are reasonably easy to figure out. VCRs are impossible.

I can't be the first person to note that Chip Gizmo looks...the crew cut, the heavy glasses, the faraway expression...a little like Cory.

Gotta bring the old folks up to speed slowly, doncha know. Most of Beetle Bailey's readers are probably still trying to figger out how to get the VCR clock to stop flashing.
