Hey, I've got a new story ("Morlock Chili") in the June Asimov's as well! (pouts)

John Varley is the bestest there is. The Gaea trilogy just rules. He's written stories that stay in one's mind forever.

The stories in _Persistence of Vision_ and _Blue Champagne_ are some of the best in science fiction. I'm a little behind on my Varley reading though -- I still haven't read _The Golden Globe_!

I'll be looking forward to getting my June Asimov's (newstands always get 'em before subscribers. grump.)

The JV story is indeed a great Heinlein tribute,
it fits right into the MIAHM through Friday sequence.
Adam Selene would have fixed that non-traceable phone
problem pretty quickly.

Plus you are spot on about a great ending. I'm reading your
story next...
