Lloyd Biggle, Jr. should have been a much better-known writer than he was. Back when Card first called my attention to "The Tunesmith" (publishing it as half of a Tor Double with one of his own novellas) I went on kind of a Biggle binge, reading everything the local library had by him. Eventually some of those very books ended up on the "friends of the library" table for a buck, and I bought them. They were all good old-fashioned storytelling, nothing flashy but very satisfying.
