Extropian?

Anyway, sounds like its best use might be allowing you to get high, then delete the traces from your pee before the drug test. Yay progress.

Or blocking the cocaine so it can't get you high. If I had a drug addict child, and was able to get them to take these meds to help break a drug addiction, I'd do it.

I'm hoping for a tweak that would
*double* the effect of cocaine;
a "booster", if you will.

Tom, that's what's amphetamines are used for. Amphetamines disgorges dopamine from the synaptic vesicles that are recycling the neurotransmitter in addition to pumping even more dopamine into the synapse, while cocaine blocks the reuptake gates in the axion terminal, forcing more dopamine and other neurochemcials to be present and used. This is why "speedballs" are so potent.

_x, I think AME-359 has to be consumed by humans. There were NIDA studies awhile back that some folks had an immunity to cocaine, as the drug would have to cross the blood-brain barrier and get antibodies attached to the compound. They even experimented on rats, give them an immunity to cocaine by introducing a "vaccine" drug. Perhaps this is the end result, a counteragent based off that research. However, it is mentioned that it is an enzyme, so it could be done before ingestion.

Extropian only in the sense that it would give you a greater control over your body, letting you change something that couldn't be changed before. As Dr. Lawrence Bloch said in the article, "We're engineering part of the human body to do something a lot better that it was originally meant to do." - that's part of what transhumanism would like to be able to do (and ergo an extropian goal as well, given their market-orientated approach)
