No mention of the Kroffts should be made without also mentioning the horrible 1977 Ninth Circuit Court decision that basically smashed the idea/expression divide by ruling that McDonald's McDonaldland commercials infringed on the Krofft's H.R.Pufnstuff show:

I was referring to the fact that much of the Krofft's stuff is just disturbing. I mean, gawd, I had the H.R. Puffnstuff theme going through my head this morning.
