I don't get it. Weezer was popular, then not, and now they're popular again. What's the argument (thesis) here?

When are these people going to learn that you don't need to use big words to explain something? If only he had experienced "hooked on phonics" as a child this would never have happened.

Or, maybe the writer's not an idiot and is writing for an audiencing that *wants* that language.

The first sentence of the quote told me that this was going to be a painful read. Anyone who uses "utilizing" when they mean "using" is trying to impress the reader, not inform him.

The author need to buy a copy of Strunk and White's The Elements of Style, and spend as much time studying that as he did listening to Weezer.
