Happy 50th, Mad Magazine

 Mad has been going downhill for a long time, alas. To me
the first sign of things gone wrong was back when Batman
came out. That movie had been heavily hyped through advertising
and then Mad had one of their movie mockeries of it come
out just about the same time the movie did. Not the usual
two or three month lag that would be needed if they saw
it in the theatre after it was released.

And now, now Mad has ads in it. It is just not the same.

 Still doesn't confirm or deny that he was named after Randy Newman's uncle.
