"Never try to teach a pig to sing..." That isn't Mister Lazarus Long, is it?

"Cows can go for hours without making a sound, and it's hard to get them to speak into the microphone"

"Never try to teach a pig to sing. It is a waste of time and it annoys the pig"

Anyone know where the second quote comes from?

Cory, you could use google groups to check the old
alt.cows.moo.moo.moo posts. By the way, "Pogonatus" is
roughly "the Bearded" in latin.

MooMooEncode was an old joke replacement for uuencode. It
emitted a stream of "Moo" "moo" "MOO", etc. The capitalizations
stored each bit of the original file. Not exactly space
efficent, but good enough for binaries in alt.cows.moo.moo.moo.
