Thanks for posting this: I thought the shrunken heads were part of my Creepy Crawlers kit, but I see that I was wrong. I still remember the noxious but alluring odor of that stuff cooking. The last time I saw my Fright Factory/Creepy Crawler kits intact, I had put them into storage when we moved in 1970. By the time I got back to my stuff, some months (years?) later, I opened the box and discovered that the Plastigoop bottles had leaked. The goo had eaten its way through all the styrofoam packing, burning and liqueifying the stuff into a tarry mass; the oven was wrecked, too. I was afraid to touch the kit except to toss it into the trash. Boy did I love those shrunken heads.

My Strange Change Time Machine was a bit more durable.

Ah, for the carefree days of youth, when every Woolworth's carried Plastigoop.

When there was a Woolworth's.

Ever wonder what was IN plastigoop? And what those aromatics might be doing even now, deep down in your aveoli?

And what happened to all those creepy crawlers and such . . . what would be more scary, that they disintegrated spontaneously, or that they're still around, eventually to form a geological strata that will baffle the living shit out of some shrew-people archeologists 8.7 millions years from now?
