Hi. Sometimes uptalking gets the better of me? But it's OK, I hear it on the CBC, like, all the time?
All these CBC phone in shows, like they are full of women that talk like 3rd grade teachers?
Like they seem so pretentious and all?

I always though this came from Canada? I remember hearing a radio programme about eight years ago? where a Canadian author pointed out how Canadians spoke like this? Then again, we don't have so many Canadians here to check this.

Uptalking is even more annoying in the field where it has spread like kudzu:

Since uptalking is neither a declaration nor a question, it's particularly difficult to quote in print. At the end of a simple sentence, you can't type '..he said.' Or '...he asked.' My dumb solution: "Yesterday, Gar and I went to the store to get some Slim Jims," he suggested.

Y'know, I ran into this just the other day. Like, "Huh? What is she _asking_ me? Did I miss something?"

Right! Perfect example?
