I've been thinking about this... that anyone late to work at the WTC that day... who watched the towers collapse... could've just walked away and kept walking, entirely away from their previous identity.

There are temps still unaccounted for -- according to yesterday's NY Times article, temp agencies have outdated next-of-kin info, and little other information on tracking people who would know whether a contractor did not come home.

If it weren't for the loss of thousands of people, I'd be looking for the crop of mystery novels, to take advantage of this.

Give it a few years. It's too good a plot-starter not to use.

I wonder what they'd call it . . . "pulling a Reginald Perrin?"
