what ever happened to 2 weeks 204b only then back to carrying in a month rule. seems like all this sups are promoting their boyfriend girlfriend permanently to 204b to do their work in busting the carrier for them while nobody left to carry the mail anymore. | | |

sally the 204b /m30929 That's TWO 10-minute breaks, 204Bucko. And for us, yes, the rest is work. Unlike with you, where the work is rest.

/m30929 Have you tried night splints? Pretty low cost, completely non-invasive and for me, worked like a charm. I've had plantar faschiitis in both feet from time to time but a few weeks (up to 2 months) wearing a night splint at night and Rx inserts during the day has always cleared it up. You should never be going barefoot and should have good shoes with good support and good cushioning all the time. Good luck.

I am a 204b. I have been called a butt kisser and a brown noser but I do it for both the betterment of the postal service and to better my upward mobility. I am good at what I do. I keep the mail moving. I capture the undertime and keep the OT to a minimum. When I move over to the finance side, I will crack the whip on the lazy clerks and get yet another secret shopper award. I plan on getting a hefty bonus for not calling out carriers on their non scheduled days( there is not enough time to warrant an eight hour call out) If I am not who you think I am, well so be it. Remember just a 30 minute lunch and a 10 minute break, all the rest is work!

/m30921 How about custom orthotics, molded to your exact feet? Paid $250 ten years ago and they'll probably outlast me. [pun intended]

Les... just your one line post suggests jealousy. This is really not the place to air out this tit for tat... it is, afterall, a CITY CARRIER discussion board. That being said, were you in "awe" over the fact that you got benefits from day one, while the first 6-10 years rural carriers labored through mean absolutely nothing when it comes to bennies, retirement, etc? We paid our dues bucko. We didn't create the evaluated system which has pluses and minuses. If you want to talk pluses, then you have to accept the minuses as well. Come on over to the rural carrier boards if you want to keep this discussion going.
My APOLOGY to the city carriers on THEIR board. Keep up the good work. We know who 'moves the mail' and does what the USPS is in business to do.

Pabak, /m30914, Clerks jealous of carriers??? Please! Never in my 20+ years was I, or any other clerk I worked with jealous of carriers. I was in awe, though, at how most of the rural carriers could get paid for a 40+ hour week and only "work" 30!

foreverptf- plantar fasciitis....(heel spurs) The cortisone sometimes takes time to work. I had it when I first stared carrying in the late 70's. I had shots in the early 80's and after a few months the pain went away. every so often there would be spells and I used arch supports. The spurs are still there but rarely bother me now. I not only carried for over 31 years but averaged around 150 rounds of golf per year. There is a surgical procedure that will relieve the stress on the tendon that aggravates the area causing the formation of the heels. It works sometimes but generally the problem will return. My podiatrist told me it was caused by a gradually strengthening tendon. Actually it seems worse if one has a very well defined arch. In my case if I were to walk with wet feet all I leave is a heel, ball of my feet and toes. A good podiatrist will be of invaluable use. Good Luck,

/m30921 Have you had your foot x-rayed? I've had foot problems for years so I know quite a bit about the subject! How old are your shoes? THere are a lot of things to look at with foot problems so I'd start with x-rays!

I have been a PTF for about 8 years and It started hurting about 6 months ago.ANY ADVICE? thanks..
