Looks like the contract mentioned is perhaps not the National Union one. I think the poster is talking about the one I got when I first hired on...about expectations and available jobs...post-Post Office. I think it did expect employees to also accept a set of guidelines that included somewhat a "gag order".

what the heck is wrong with you people.

If your worried about some bogus thing that your supervisor made up then quit posting here. This site can be easily traced back to the sender.

It is officially over..cause now we are even scared of our own shadows.

Grow a pair people before you have nothing left.

It would be interesting to see USPS try to take action against someone because they said something negative on an internet forum. If they can, I guess The United States Constitution is not worth the parchment it is written on. Slander and Libel are one thing, the truth is another. Why aren't all the APWU workers who have picketed outside Postal facilities in jail or fired if they have no free speech rights in connection with their employment?

Question: PTF scheduled 7-9am, and again at 3:15-6:15pm. In morning, Supervisor determines that there is very light mail and wants to cancel ptf's 7-9am hours. Call him at home and tell him to stay home? What if he's already on way to work, can he tell him at the door before he clocks in to go back home? This person lives 1/2 hour away. What is the ruling in this situation? Thanks for all your help.....

Your work schedule is subject to chnge based on business needs.

However, you have a 2 hour guarentee on reporting to work as scheduled.

Your supervisor should accept the fact that you were not canecelled before it was necessary for you to leave, so he should have left you work.

If he didn't let you work, I would ask for mileage and time on the clock while traveling round trip, since he did not cancel the shift in a timely manner.

I assume this will be a one time occurance? Now he should have found out by what time he would have to contact you to cancel. If the sup intends to continue to meet you at the door and say your shift is cancelled, then you will need to contact your steward and get it starightened out. They cannot make you drive in to find out you are cancelled. talk to your steward.

BTW- I assume that when the PM cancels the am shift, it doesn't mean he is cancelling the only PTF, and doing the clerk work himself, does it? If so you have a shifting work issue and need to contact your steward for that as well.

I represented a carrier in an EEO grievance. Ever since this happened I have been harrassed repeatedly. The newest issue is the slacks that I have been wearing since I started 5 years ago is not right. They do not make my size. The senior clerk has made it her business to keep the harassment going. I'm ready to quit the stress is getting to be too much.

The postmaster follows the orders of the clerk. She has made it a miserable place to be.

Fl, dont quit. That would be giving into those two. It is your turn to file the EEO. Do it today, dont wait til it get worse. There are some miserable people in this PO.
