Melba: I wish I knew the answer to your question, but I don't! That said, I do know where you can get the answers. You should send this question to NetObjects' websupport, at http://support.netobjects.com/registration/index.html

It's free, and they'll answer within 24 business hours. You can also email support@netobjects.com (though that can take longer)

If you need a more immediate answer, visit the NetObjects Newsgroups, which you can find at: http://www.netobjects.com/support/html/newsgroups.html - then you can often get an answer quickly from other people who use Fusion. I hope that helps! DwH

Sometimes after I've posted documents and start to publish and generate the site, I get error messages: {An error occurred while publishing page "Specifications (P)". This page has not been generated. Check that the location of the page or its embedded objects has not changed.} The next error message: {Fusion.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created.} Most times I can restart NetObjects but sometimes I need to reboot the system. Is there a different solution to this problem?

David:

When you create a table, the column width is fixed (at least it always is for me). Fusion's page layouts are static tables, that do not stretch, something some people complain about, but I like, because I want to be able to control the line lengths of text to ensure they're easy to read.

Sevie: Coolmaps Inform is good because it handles all the back end stuff, and it's far easier than trying to set this up on a server. DwH

Greetings,
Thanks dwh. I may try adding the asp script as an assest, since I can't see writing the asp script into the html. However, I am considering InForm from Coolmaps to take care of this form. May come in handy for other clients if they want a form and it keeps me out of the cgi-bin entirely. Let me know of other form tricks you may have.
Kindest regards,
Sevie

Is there a way in NetObjects MX to fix the width of a table or screen so that it will not increase or decrease in width?

Sevie:

If the ASP script is on your page, you should add it to the HTML of the page itself, then it will be posted each time NOF generate the page. You can add HTML easily to any NOF page. To see how, go to http://fuseletter.com/48.html and scroll down to "Adding Html, Redux"

If it's a separate file on your server, it shouldn't be deleted, but if it is, yes, you can add it as an asset and it will be republished each time you publish the site. DwH

Greetings,
The web host for one of my client sites helped me with form output. They used an active server pages script to have the form output e-mail to my client. But, when I update the site, particularily when I make changes across the whole site, my NOF v 5.+ wipes out the ASP script and the web host has to rebuild it. Is there any way I can include the script as an assest in NOF so it recognizes it as its own?
Kindest regards,
Sevie

Daniel,
I use avidhosting. They have been exceptional! I host 24 other sites with them, with no problems! Go to:

I've never heard of this feature! What web host do you use?

Lisa,
In your web server admin. area, you should be able to back up your site on your hard drive using their backup link. At least, my host offers this.
Look around your site, you might have this, too!

Lisa, if you've lost your pages, backups, etc., but your site was public, you might find that Google still has them cached. Go to google.com, do searches that turn up pages on your site (it's up to you to find the best way), and click the Cached link that shows up, and then use your browser's View Source to see the source and save it.

I know that's different than what you're asking (Daniel's answered that), but this might help you recover from the present disaster.

If you think this will work, do it quickly before Google's spiders visit your site again and refresh their cache.

If you want to copy files from your web server to your hard disk, then I recommend CuteFTP, from www.globalscape.com .

This will let you download your entire site at once (it can take time, of course, but you can do it).
