Hi Dan, just surfing through your web-site. It is said that if you go to Trafalgar sq and stay there long enough you will see every person you ever met in your whole life. Perhaps the same will be said of the Web one day.
I was a volunteer in Hamadia in `77/79 and 81 and my kibbutz parents were Naomi & Menachem Zeira. They had five children, Gadi,Rami,Hen,Neta & Nili. They were indeed wonderful hosts and I remember them all fondly. Shame you dont have pictures of the kibbutz, mine are over 20 years old. Next time you travel take more pics of people and less of rocks. See you around, maybe.

The columns in the Photo you determimed "don't remember" is the "column boulevard" in ancient Bet shean reconstructions. when it was excavated the columns were lying on the street with all the heads to the north (the direction of the hill). they all fell at one moment in the earth quake in 749. the arceologists cosidered to leave the ruins as they found them in order to show the angle of the quake, but at last they decided to lift the columns up, as well as the whole city and leave the arches lying on the street.

Having asked if you'd updated your diary, I went and looked it's now 1/2 hour later, yes you had. Very good. Just as well I have a lap-top so I can turn it on its side to look at the photos! 20 lengths of the swim pool every day please!!
