Denise, just think of what the Indian headdress will do for your man! And don't forget to give him his bow and arrow. (-:))

Hi Krewe Members - I know of two of our krewe couples who have family members in their homes as a result of Katrina.
Dave & Cookie Phillips have 10 at their house.
Ted & Trudy Mayeux have 16 at their house.

Please think of them in your prayers and any help you can give them - extra pantry items, etc. would be appreciated. They have not asked for help, but I am, as President, asking you'all to help if you can -- just a phone call to see if there is anything you can do will be fine.

If there are others in the Krewe who have family members staying with them, please let us know.

Linda

Linda, Ilse and I want to help out with the dinner the Krewe of Krewes are preparing this weekend at the C.C.
Do you know any details about that? When and where is the meeting point.

May be there are other members willing to meet there.Could someone possibly contact Bill Holleman and ask about some near outdated supplies from Market Basket stores, which we could distribute or use for ingredients for the meal.

Richard - Jim and I would love to help out but Saturday we're going to Mandeville to help our son with his home which was damaged in the hurricane. Trees are on his roof and holes in his roof need to be plugged up before any rains come and further damage the inside of his home.

Here is some information from Don Menard about Sunday's cook-out
For anyone who hasn't yet heard, the Krewe of Krewes and The Mardi Gras Museum will be preparing and serving a spaghetti dinners Sunday evening at the Civic Center. Each of the krewes and any other organizations wanting to help, is being asked to provide enough spaghetti to feed 100 people. Our krewe, Krewe du Lac and our Pelican Coast Parrot Head Club will be participating together in the effort. We will begin cooking at noon Sunday on the south side of the CC in whatever shade we can find. We are looking for any donations to buy the ingredients to cook with, so if you'd like to help those poor displaced people, this is your chance. We'll take any amount you'd like to give. To make it as easy as possible for people to donate, we O.B.'s Bar and Grill on Ryan said they would be glad to hold donations for us if people want to drop them off there. So, please drop off any amounts you care to give to the effort, preferably in an envelope with Krewe du Lac or Parrot Head Club written on the outside and who is donating it. I'll be there this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon around 5pm to pick up the donations and drink a beer, in case anyone wants to come by and visit. We will give any extra donations not needed to buy supplies for the meal to the Red Cross from Krewe du Lac and the P.C.P.H.C..
Thank you all for being so generous and helpful with this project, it's for a worthy cause!
Take care and hope you can come socialize with us Sunday from noon till somewhere in the shade on the south side of the Civic Center. Bring your own drinks and lawn chairs.

RIchard, I have not been contacted by any other Krewe Members who will be preparing the food other than yourself. Please advise either by phone or email.
Thanks, Linda

Ilse and I will be going there. We will take some supplies.
I am amazed that so few members responded to our e-mails or left a message here on our board.

Hi, folks; Becky and I would love to help out in times like these, but we've got eleven here at our house from the north shore area; so our hands are full. got the kids enrolled in school here, since no telling how long before they can return to their mandeville schools. No flood damage, thank God, but plenty of structural damage from falling trees.

Best of luck to all.

Richard, sorry, but we just got back in town from
Austin, Texas attending our nephews wedding. Vic and I went to the Civic Center before we left and took supplies for the evacuees. Let me know if there is anything else we can do.

Thanks, Linda; so far so good, but if we need it we'll call. Got three more in last night, but I think they're going somewhere else today.

Here are some pictures of the Krewes dinner preparation at the C.C. this Sunday. It was a great success. They could even ship dinners to other locations like the Burton Coliseum. Krewe DuLac cooked their contribution under a tree close to the lake.
