Larry, Fred might not have enough space for your motor home, but one block North of his place, Ryan and Chavanne Streets, might be your place. There are large empty lots. Last year there were a lot of cars and trucks there. And then you would be close enough to visit with us at Fred's
Just be sure to stake your place early, around noon would be best.

If this board is still active, I have a question. As a displaced member as of 10 years ago, I can never forget the fun and fellowship we had. We have been in South Carolina for the last 10 years and miss our roots in Moss Bluff. I have a question... If we drive down in a motorhome for 2009, where could we find or reserve a place to park on the parade route?
Miss you all, Larry and Melissa Stagg lstagg@charter.net staggm@charter.net

Hi y'all Ilse and I think that this fine forum could help so much with the communication of krewe members, especially if our krewe president would use it for announcements. (-:) There are 16 subscribers only. Would all of you write in, so we know who you are? It would be nice, if everyone would help signing up another member, so this forum can grow in a hurry. Hi Melissa and Larry, it was good to hear from you. Yes, this is Mardi Gras season and the Krewe has the second Kings Cake party this weekend. We are going to miss this function, because our son is getting married to a wonderful girl from Jeff Davis Parish. We have some family here from Germany. They will stay until Ash Wednesday. There is Mardi Gras in Germany, but it is celebrated differently. I am sure our visitors will enjoy our ball and the other celebrations. Go ahead and start a Krewe at your new location. May be we can exchange visits in the future, just like we did with the Krewe de Charly Sioux of Sioux City, Iowa.

Hi Grand Bois!!!, I sure miss you. Melissa and I were members in the 90's and the memories of our fellowship with you keep us going here in our new home... South Carolina. Mardi Gras, to the locals here means New Orleans, I have a difficult time explaining to them what WE were all about. I would like to begin a chapter here for the locals to let them know what we had, a real Mardi Gras orginization, what it is all about and extend our fellowship. Thanks for the good years of fun and friendship, Have lots of fun this year........ Larry and Melissa Stagg Any one who remembers us... Linda,I don't think you, as president of our krewe, should try to manage everything which comes along. You should keep the membership informed of what is going on, since it is you who most likely get the news from the Krewe of Krewes and related organizations. It is up to the membership to join in to do things we enjoy doing as a social club. Good communication is the key to all this. With today's technology, it is so easy to "spread the word". I was hoping that Quick Topic might be a good medium, but most members I e-mailed an invitation, did not even bother to sign up to get krewe information delivered to their desktop. Hey, we are living the good life, when we can help other people in need, instead of having to accept someone else's help.

Here is some information from Don Menard about Sunday's cook-out For anyone who hasn't yet heard, the Krewe of Krewes and The Mardi Gras Museum will be preparing and serving a spaghetti dinners Sunday evening at the Civic Center. Each of the krewes and any other organizations wanting to help, is being asked to provide enough spaghetti to feed 100 people. Our krewe, Krewe du Lac and our Pelican Coast Parrot Head Club will be participating together in the effort. We will begin cooking at noon Sunday on the south side of the CC in whatever shade we can find. We are looking for any donations to buy the ingredients to cook with, so if you'd like to help those poor displaced people, this is your chance. We'll take any amount you'd like to give. To make it as easy as possible for people to donate, we O.B.'s Bar and Grill on Ryan said they would be glad to hold donations for us if people want to drop them off there. So, please drop off any amounts you care to give to the effort, preferably in an envelope with Krewe du Lac or Parrot Head Club written on the outside and who is donating it. I'll be there this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon around 5pm to pick up the donations and drink a beer, in case anyone wants to come by and visit. We will give any extra donations not needed to buy supplies for the meal to the Red Cross from Krewe du Lac and the P.C.P.H.C.. Thank you all for being so generous and helpful with this project, it's for a worthy cause! Take care and hope you can come socialize with us Sunday from noon till somewhere in the shade on the south side of the Civic Center. Bring your own drinks and lawn chairs.

Hi Krewe Members - I know of two of our krewe couples who have family members in their homes as a result of Katrina. Dave & Cookie Phillips have 10 at their house. Ted & Trudy Mayeux have 16 at their house.
Please think of them in your prayers and any help you can give them - extra pantry items, etc. would be appreciated. They have not asked for help, but I am, as President, asking you'all to help if you can -- just a phone call to see if there is anything you can do will be fine.
If there are others in the Krewe who have family members staying with them, please let us know.

I would like to welcome all new and old Krewe members to this forum. It has been a long time, since we used these pages. May be now, all of us are more comfortable on our keyboards and embrace the available technology to be better informed and have more fun communicating.
All members should subscribe to automatically get an e-mail, when one of us enters a message. I hope we will get plenty of responses to all subjects raised and lies told (-:)) right here on OUR BULLETIN BOARD.

Thanks for the picture entry Richard you made Myra's day. As for the sexy guy needing to tighten up his belt at least one notch tell my friend Ilse that I have successfully tightened it up 2 notches so far. I have lost 24 lbs. and really plan to rejoin the planet called earth before I finish my goal. I would like to become a recreational runner again. You now it is hard to look at me and believe I was once a marathoner. But, that's enough about me. I hope you folks are ready for spring. It is certainly almost that time. Will see you soon............God bless America.D; D; D; . < replied-to message removed by QT >

Thanks to Linda and Dale Manuel for a wonderful evening in their home. This was a very comfortable king cake party to kick off the new year. Good luck to all of you who are involved with this years pagent. Most of us know what time and energy it takes to just survive it. Linda I am sure is already worn out with all she has to do. For the record may I say thanks for what you have done as what you will do in the future for our Krewe. My wish for the new year is to have everyone around us realize what you are worth to us all. Good to hear from you again, Bob and Jean. You should plan to visit with us on one of our krewe functions, so we all can see whether the great State of Arkansas lets their people grow gracefully old. You missed the steak BBQ today; it was at Camp David again. We had a wonderful afternoon. Love Ilse and Richard

Gail came thru her surgery with flying colors. Yes all is ok with her now. She will be in the recovery mode for the next three weeks. The orginal pain is gone and now all that is left is the pain from the cut from the surgery. She was up on her feet one hour after her operation (Doctor's orders). Then every hour she had to walk down the hall at the hospital. Each time a little further than before 'til she was able to round the floor. She was home by 9:30pm Friday, the same day. She says thanks for the thoughts and prayers. Hopefully she will be as good as new.

The water of the ship channel was quite silted last weekend. That might have been the reason, why fishing was very poor. A few fat bream would look good in any frying pan--- but sac-o-lait would be first class. Keep us informend, Charles.

Just in case i am going to put bream bait out at the wharf. Will let you know when the white perch really turn it on. It should not be long.

We had a wonderful time at Cameron's new RV park. It was not difficult to choose the best camp site of 40. They must have reserved the whole thing just for us. The attendents are very friendly--we even had a visit by the Director of Mosquito Control on Saturday, who inquired about our well being. We served fied fish all afternoon--where were you James? Thanks for your visit Nancy and Glenn. Nancy your new convertible looks sharp.
