New Journal entries - http://www.wavelust.com/bsl/may02.html Been too busy with work to write much more than some basic session info/crib notes for the last few surfs. Surf has sucked anyway...

Hhoop, sounds interesting, waves have not been very good here lately. What is the format and file size of the clip(s)? Is it your footage?

Thanks for the input, Jon. I agree that message board is irritatiing - the delay in loading.. plus the banner ad in the middle sucks (but hey it is free). The boys from nextmill.com are helping me to set up "ikonboard" as we speak.

That new message board loads up a little slower(with a cable modem), the interface is nice though. Looked like a fun little swell though.

Well, our Mother's Day Swell was kind of a let down, but we got some above average summer surf out of it. I'm way behind on updating the website but should have some some new stuff soon. I'm thinking of changing to a different message board, I'd appreciate any feedback on whether I should change to this one http://pluto.beseen.com/boardroom/u/59870/ (a couple video clips from yesterday) --- or links to other free threaded message boards. Thanks!

Student- We often say "dooood" "tubular" and "gnarly" (juuuust kidding). Anyway, hard to say without knowing the context but my guess for "SE" is southeast, as in wind or swell direction. http://www.balix.com/surfing/glossary.htmlhttp://www.surfinary.com/a_z.htmSome friendly advice- don't try to "talk like a surfer" to someone who actually surfs! Good luck with the magazine.....

Hey Bud! You seem like a really good surfer, and I have to make a magazine for school. I wanted to do an article about surfing because it seems so cool! The only problem is I'm not really famaliar with it. I've checked out a lot of sites, so I know the basics of how to surf, but can you tell me what surfers commonly say and what the abbreviations mean. For example I saw something that said "SE". What does that mean?

Bud,
Thanks for the reply, I'm guessing I'm going to have to get some kind of super macho zooom for the shots on the South shore like you said, the breaks are way out.. I'm thinking I'm getting a box of the fuji snapshots to go along with this as well, also you're pic's are great. Thanks again.
