People, let's get back on topic. I know alot of us are sad that Tiger Stadium is gone and tensions are high right now, but as long as the field is still there the memory will live forever. Mike illitch can't own thd Tigers forever, we will rebuild!

The only way we can loose now if they develop the corner and build over the field. Even if nothing is done and the weeds grow knee high, we can always get our own tractor, cut the grass and play baseball

What is the status of the field at this moment, last I heard MCM was still there.

I drove by Sunday and yes the demo people still had their crap there including the steel scale. For the most part they look finished, but there are still piles of crushed concrete laying everywhere. The only thing that still stands is the iron gate along Michigan Ave.

Im sure the iron gates are going to be the last thing to come down as they have value as scrap and is helping keep people out.

To Claude G. - How does the field look? Is the flag pole still in place?

I'm glad to see the aerial pictures and I still say the Field Stands out still even without the Stadium around it. I hope we can capitalize on this and get things going in the right direction once and for all and get the Field preserved. I have purchased the updated version of Stranded from preservetigerstadium.com and just as I came involved in the preservation and utilization of the Historic Corner,I hope this brings new light to the project. Whether it be Michigan and Trumbull, the OTSC, Navin Field Consortium, Glanz or somebody else from the past, I hope someone comes to the plate and hits us a home run and gets things moving. Maybe even the DEGC could come to their senses and see that the earmark money does not go to waste and gives more benefit to Detroit.

From the air it looks peacefull, from the ground level looking through the fence it looks like crap with all the piles of rubble scattered everywhere.

a "memorial" should look peaceful. I'll be glad when the demo crew makes their final exit. Doug, have you heard anything from the OTSC lately?
It may not seem like it... but I do know a memorial is still in the works.

Well this world series is going to suck. The Phillies won last year, so I don't care to see them win again, and the Yankees won 26 world series over the past 109 years, so I really don't want to see them win either.

Too bad LA had so many errors in the bottom of the 8th inning, or I think they would have had a shot at a game 7. By the top of the 9th it was clear the Angels could not pull it off and I think they gave up!

There was a great quote back in the 30s or 40s. "Rooting for the Yankees is like rooting for a yacht!" How can you NOT hate the Yankees? The best team money can buy.

I find myself rooting for the Phillies. they may have won last year, but small dynasties are ok in my book. The Yankees could use another, would have, could have, should have moment:)

Doc:

Well I do not agree with it being a gay name but it does have issues.

I got you bet on these two dozes Cruisers rhymes losers and snoozers so

we better just win baby win as Al Davis would say.

  Thanks for the thought.
