I'm glad to hear your comments on problems with stitches so I know what to look out for. I have a running suture in my eye and on my last visit about 6 weeks ago, the consultant had to pull the stitches along as they were uneven and gave distorted vision - not painful at the time, but v. uncomfortable once the numbing drops had worn off.

I have been told to reduce the anti-rejection drops from 4 times a day to none until my next appointment which is this coming Wednesday. My sight hasn't improved at all since the stitch pulling episode but my eye does feel slightly itchy. I'm frightened to use the drops that I often have to use for my other eye as I do tend to suffer from conjuctivitis from time to time. I think I will mention the itchy eye and whether it's okay to use these drops which can be very soothing.

Hi Sajeev,

Unfortunately, you seem to be experiencing the curse of the internet - the "DNS black hole".

In the final act of launching the new forums, we have now taken control of our own domain, and the internet domain name system is transferring the domain name from one machine to another.

Unfortunately, to spread the change around every computer on the internet can take up to 48 hours, during which there can be the odd problem when some computers you talk to have a different idea of the address to others.

The "Black hole" is a fairly rare occurrence nowadays though, and it should resolve itself for you sometime soon.

An update on the registration/bus pass saga as per my earlier
message.

I had a phone call this afternoon from a very apologetic woman
in the council social services department, who'd had my
complaint passed on to her via my local councillor. And was
ringing to apologise for me having been pissed about by one of
the department's staff (who she said was "new" and hadn't
learned all the job yet, ha!), and that I was quite right and
shouldn't have had to do that, but only needed to go to the
One-Stop Shop and renew the pass with none of the messing about.

So, if anyone else has had a remotely similar experience with a
council making a dog's dinner out of trying to renew a Freedom
Pass when you're already on their register, give them what-for!

            This is probably not te right time to ask this question (because of the message board changes),but I will ask it anyway. What I wanted to know was if it was possible to have laser teatment afte a graft, so that it can be smoothed out To avoid the use of contact lenses after the graft has been done(there should be enough thickness for it ?)

My brother had a graft followed by Laser treatment and has very good vision.

The "black hole" appears to have ended. I myself was slightly affected by it, and a tiny configuration error was hidden from me.

Hi Anna,
        Your post was very interesting. Can you tell us more, please, about your brother having laser treatment after he had his graft. Can you tell us the following:-

1) Was it his idea or did his eye care specialist want to do it ?

2) Did he do it privately or was it done on the NHS (and which hospital) ?

3 How long has he had the graft for and how long after that did he have the laser treatment.

4) What type of laser treatment was it (Lasik or PRK) ?

5) How good is his vision now (does he wear any specticals at all) ?

Sorry for all these quetions but I am on a learning curve due to your very interesting reply message.
