Alumni,
This workout was shared by Cole - it looks like alumni meet training!
Enjoy.

Warm-Up #1: 20 minute shower. *Stretch, but not hard.

> Warm-Up #2: 5-8 minute visualization. *Stand at pool’s edge. Stare at
> water. Adjust goggles 3-4 times. “Are you getting in or what?” asks a
> nearby lap swimmer. Don’t make eye contact. Gotta focus.

> Warm-Up #3: 172 yard free/elementary backstroke. *Stop each 25 to drain
> goggles. Stretch, but not hard. Do not swim to the wall; finish at the
> flags. Walk it in.

> 75 kick. *Pull along the lane-lines 3 times each 25. Heart rate under 110.

> 50 scull. *Just get that “feel” back. Really work on getting the “feel”
> down.

> ***Stop. Put on cap. It’s go-time.

> 6×100 @ 20 seconds after each. *Don’t push it. Descend the 4th through
> the 75, float back. Today is a “loosening up” day. Coast the last two.
> *Aerobic work is done.

> 6×25 free with fins @ 3:00-7:00. *Hydrate after each. *After each, check
> clock and mutter something disappointing, as if you were a great sprinter
> back in the day and going 16 seconds is extremely disappointing. Everyone
> will be very impressed, and the girl in the medium-slow lane will
> probably ask you if you swam in college. Respond: “Yeah, but this is the
> first time I’ve been swimming in a while. Really out of shape.” She’ll be
> impressed and tell you that you’re fast. Smile back and invite her to
> coffee. Ignore the painful rejection as she smiles awkwardly and keep
> swimming. *She’s medium-slow, anyway.

> ***Put on paddles. *Wait for someone attractive to walk by, then BLAST 15
> yards as fast as you can. Create as big a wake as possible. *Do this as
> much as necessary until you feel good about yourself.

> Warm-down #1: 50 EZ. *Optional

> Warm-down #2: Exit pool *and wait for medium-slow girl to make
> eye-contact. Give her a James Dean smile.

> Warm-down #3: Stretch, not too hard. *30 minute shower

> Warm-down #4: Recover *for 16-21 days.

Hey Coach, I like the workout tips. I saw that Homecoming is Oct 23-25th weekend. Is that the date of the Alumni Meet? I need to know when to start my last minute, cram session style, training in the fall. :)

WE swim Marymount at home on the 24th which is homecoming so we may just do a picnic or cookout after the meet.

Home meet... that's perfect... that will tire out the varsity swimmers so the alumni won't have to cheat..eh...I mean..um... yeah, cheat as much as normal. Does that mean no alumni meet?

I know I know, a typical move on my part to pop up out of no where! Anyways guys i would also like to be added to the alumni list. 99-03. I'm currently stationed in Mobile, AL as a Avionics Electrical Technician for the US Coast Guard (5 years and running) and I am bartending part time for a local bar called Boo Radley's. I do not get much time to come home so feel free to call me (302.632.9458) or email me at beachswimmer117@yahoo.com, or look me up via facebook. I'll try to head up that way and catch a meet one of these days. btw love the workout, I do that one once a week if i even go near the pool. which i should probably start doing. i think i'm allergic to cardio
