By playing the game involving cattle, we learned that in order to maximize profits, you need to find an ideal balance with the aspects of the game. Too many cows will result in disappointing profit, finding this peak in profit can be difficult. Everyone thinks of this process differently as with anything. This leads to some people overusing the land which may provide them with a large profit but takes away from the farming ability of others.

We have learned that if you use to many resources and overuse the land there wont be anything left. An example of this is with cows. If you buy too many cows and they stay on the same land and they ruin it, you lose a good piece and it loses value. People have different opinions over these types of issues. The media plays a huge part in this controversy. They talk a lot about green programs and conserving our lands. Many people don't understand the impacts, or they do and just don't care.

You need to find the perfect balance with your total profit and losing money. To many cows 50 for example will give you less profit but having 20 cows won't be your full potentional. So in conclusion you need to find your perfect numbers of cows as fast as possible to make great success!

We learned that not every person has the same values and beliefs. Some people may not buy as many cows as a greedy person would because they know how the industry works. The greedy person will buy lots of cows and then overgraze, and kill grass which then leads to killing the cattle because they would have no food.

Not everyone believes the same way. People never will believe the same way. The whaling game showed us the more whales the boats bring in the more profit they will make. Once a certain point is reached the business can't go up any further because the profits are maxed out. The same is true in the cow game, one a certain level of cows is reached profits level off and can even go down. Eventually the cows will die and you will be forced to compensate for them.

We learned you need to find a happy medium to maxamize your profit. Some people might think getting more cows or send out more boats may maximize their profits but in reality, they are just hurting themselves and ruining all their resources. For example, if one was to hunt all the whales in an area, just to maximize their profit, they would more-n-likely wiipeout the whales that are in the area and after they do that they have no sourse of food or money and people would either die or begin to move away and also, if there is no food in the area, people would not come to the area. If no one comes to the area, the town will slowly decrease in size and will eventually die out. After everyone is dead and gone, no one can make money and no one is happy. End of Story.

The greediness of people is leading to the tragedy of commons. There are many different beliefs by people in the world. The cow game showed me you want just enough cows to earn high profit, but greedy people will keep overfilling the land causing them to lose money, harm the land, and lead to the tragedy of the commons.

We learned that you can't put too many cows on the farm because you could have a problem with your herd and lose all of your money. You can't be too greedy and have too many cows, but you have to have enough to break even and potentially make a profit. Once you find the perfect balance you will have a good business that is successful. Problems can sometimes be out of the farmers reach like a disease, the grass might not grow, high feed prices, etc. We reached the maximum profit in three rounds.

We learned not everybody has the same values and judgement. Some people might place more cows on a farm than others because they become greedy and think more cows bring in more money but that is not necessarily true. Plus they can overgraze, kill the grass, which will lead to no food for the cattle so they will die. Then you can't sell the land or use it anymore because it can no longer produce food because all those resources are gone. We hear about this from the news, newspapers, and radio and the government is worried about losing all of our resources but they have no control over the use of farmer's land because that would be restricting their money which they can't do because as a farmer you make your own money.

What have you learned about the tragedy of the commons, especially connected to the games and the three assumptions found in the article you read today?
