i like the smart bordes in the classroom because it makes thinges easyer to understand and people can see better and the blog is really great to see what you missed if you were absent and you have no excuses so if you say to the teacher i dontknow what the homework was find another excuse because its not going to work

i don't think using cell phones in class is good because there's not many educational things you can do on a cell phone and most people would just pretend like their doing their work when the really aren't.

In my opinion I think that cell phones are not a good idea to use in class. Because you never know when a student might be goofing off instead of doing their work. I think that students just use stuff like computers for research and not cell phones because they are too disracting.

I have really enjoyed reading everyone's comments. We will try to continue doing what you like and what you think is most useful for learning. If any of you have any more thoughts on the topic feel free to email us or see us in person.

I don't think it's a good idea to be able to use cell phones for educational pourposes because I don't think anyone would actually use it for education, all students would do us text eachother.

i argee on what zach said kids would probably get lazy. I think technolgy can be good and bad. Good it can raise grades and bad it can lower grades. If classes were only online we would probably get somewhat lazy. More technolgy can be postive and negative.

I think it'll be bad for students to stay home and just take lcasses on the computer because they will get lazy and leave and stuff. Also if students are allowed to have their phones for "educational purposes" they could text as well. I'd like to take online classes so i can stay home and hopefully they are scheduled for later in the day so we can get some sleep

The US government just released a draft of their educational technology plan of 2010. In this they project what classrooms and education will be like in 2020. There is a lot of talk about "cloud computing" and using cell phones in the classrooms for educational purposes.
Extra credit for whoever looks into this plan, cloud computing, or how smartphones can be used in the classroom!

So many great points:
If schools required students to take online classes, what would happen if a student couldn't afford a computer at home?

There are school districts in the United States that are entirely virtual (online) right now!! I will give extra credit to whoever searches for a virtual school and posts the link!

I totally agree with Alexis that school is all a matter of how much effort you put in. That goes for college as well. My hope is that technology can make learning more accessible and diverse so that more people will be able to learn in a way that best suits them individually.

I also think that Brie made several great points. She recognized her needs and uses technology to help herself learn.

Maybe you should have to pay for online classes wether it is Middle school or High School like in college. For elementary schools should still remain as it is today. But the teachers should introduce it to the students a couple of years before they go into middle school.

I don't think that classes for high school and under will ever be held online because people will constantly not show up and the could not be paying any attention and you wouldn't even notice.

I think using technology is great for our class because in our time our technology keeps on advancing and we can adapt better in the future. I gives us an idea of what assignments you may have in your college career. I also think using a computer for everything can be distracting. I know if I am doing something on the computer somehow I can get sidetracked.

i think using technology helps students keep on track with what they need to get done without being physically in the class and i love it. i know if i miss class one day i always have somewhere to go and its good not having to ask people what the homework is

I think that we should continue with this technology in the class room because we can work more independently with more knowledge online. Also we should keep on ask to see what been going on so far thourgh out the unit were on and what we will be doing next.
