I just got word from my kayaker that their leg has been cancelled due to water being at flood stage. Anyone hear more information on this? What does it mean for the rest of the race....

Due to high temperatures plus an increase in run off in the past 24 hours and anticipated higher than expected temperatures the Kayak/ Canoe leg of the Adult Gap 2 Gap race has been canceled by Yakima Search and Rescue. Last year's race was high and fast at 5200 cu ft. / sec. on the Yakima River. Today the river is running at 8500 cu ft. / sec and the temperatures are rising. We (the Greenway and Search and Rescue) absolutely hate to cancel this leg, yet the safety of the racers is our highest concern and The Greenway appreciates all that our Yakima Search and Rescue teams do for us and understand this difficult decision.
