I just wanted to thank everyone for a great ride today. Although we came in dead last, I think my son learned a valuable lesson about perseverance and how to dig down when it hurts. We also appreciated the copy of Newsweek signed by Lance. This was truly unexpected and made an already great trip even better. Hopefully we'll be able to do this again next year. Sounds sweet! Yep-we did last yrs course on the 11th and there was deep gravel in some spots! Thanks for the update and the time and work!

THE FINAL ROUTE WILL NOT BE DETERMINED UNTIL THE DAY BEFORE THE RIDE.IT DEPENDS ON WHAT VDOT HAS DONE TO THE DIRT SECTIONS DUE TO THE WINTER.IF A SECTION HAS TOO MUCH GRAVEL WE WILL NOT USE IT.THIS YEARS ROUTE WILL BE A BIT DIFFERENT THAN LAST YEARS.WE HAVE BEEN RIDING VARIOUS SECTIONS LATELY AND WE WILL HOPEFULLY HAVE A KILLER CLIMB AT ABOUT THE 40 MILE MARK.IT IS SHORT BUT IS 12-15% GRADE FOR ABOUT 300 METERS.I THINK THIS YEARS ROUTE WILL BE A BLAST!
