This is my test message.
Also, in the Chronicle of Higher Education, there was an article about a cool new library. It is a good exercise in expanding ideas about what a library is.

One must be careful on hitting enter and tab. The photo was a screen shot as i tried to create something akin to threaded discussion following some menus from Quicktopic. It is not a true threaded discussion list. Instead ieach "discussion" creates a new page. Note i have CLIC as well as 2 other "topics". You can see how this sort of list will get way out of hand in a very short time...

Yitna - we have undertaken an extensive search of discussion tools that are simple to use, can be accessed through e-mail (as in the case of
QuickTopics), and that also support threaded discussion. We were not able to identify a tool with these characteristics, and consequently worked with the CEO of QuickTopics, Steve Yost, to establish a discussion list using this system. QuickTopics has been successfully used in a number of universities and academic settings. Steve Yost reports that while power users often prefer a threaded discussion list, research suggests that lack of this feature is not necessarily detrimental to discussion in an environment such as this one.

I have a question: Is there a way to respond to postings (threaded), or is this discussion board flat? I don't see any way to comment on what's been posted. Any ideas, anyone?

Thanks to all involved for setting this discussion board. I am sure we'll make good use of it.
