Thank you to everyone who has replied to my message regarding absences.
So far I have 6 days in May (7 if you count Memorial Day) and 4 in June from which to choose - days with no conflicts. Please tell your children that they are not allowed to get sick or injured, and they'd better not put off those homework assignments to the last minute.
I am still looking for athletes who will be available for a performance on August 5th - Acro, Gymdancers, T&T, Artistic who would like to tumble/dance in an extra show... I know it's difficult to commit to something that far off in the summer, but I need to put a group together, and with some serious advance planning, I think we can do it. Please give it some serious consideration.

Yes, we know there are conflicts May 19 and 20, but if Skyview is going to stay in business, we need to be out there promoting it. If you can afford even an hour to help out, it would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Everyone,
Performance Season has arrived. Please let me know if your athlete will not be available for rehearsal - any day or any time between now and June 24th. It is very difficult to move forward with choreography when people are missing. Aerials, T&T Group, Acro Compulsory Group, Artistic Group and Finale rehearsals all need to be added into the schedule, and I would like to try to work around conflicts. I know it won't always be possible to have everyone there for every practice, but please, please, please do your best. It will save us all a lot of frustration.

Hi Paul, Sorry, I was responding to the May 19 and 20 QT from the gym. Hope I didn't confuse anyone. So, States is this weekend, April 28 and 29; and Regionals is May 19 and 20 which is the same weekend as Mayfest, unfortunately. So, Acro and T&T are not available for Mayfest. Good luck to T&T this weekend.

The volunteer sign ups sheets for Mt Airy MayFest (May 19-20) are posted on the bulletin board at Skyview.
We need the booth to be COMPLETELY covered on SUNDAY (including AM set up and PM pack up and return to Skyview). Rob , Diane, Therese, & Denise will be at Acro States ALL day. Please sign up wherever you can help.
Remember, these hours count towards the required volunteer hours and should be entered into the volunteer log.

Please forgive me. I understand the problems with moving the performances at the end of the year, and in almost 20 years I have never done such a thing, but...
Alana's trio and Julia/Ashley/Callie have been invited to compete in Bulgaria June 14-18. I will lose the six girls - and LeeAnn - from the performance if we don't move it. Even more important ... This is Alana's Senior year in high school, her last opportunity to travel internationally with Acro, and her last at performance at Skyview. She shouldn't have to choose. We make a big deal each year about celebrating our Seniors, and the kids who have been working and playing together - some of them for nearly 12 years - have been looking forward, since September, to sharing their final dance. It would not be the same without Alana.
I have agonized over making this decision - hoping that some force of the Universe would intervene. But it doesn't look like the Universe is going to cooperate. I can only hope that everyone will understand.
If you have any kind of conflict with the new dates - June 22, 23, 24 - please let me know. I will do my best to include everyone in some way, even if they have to miss one of the performances. (You do need to be available for a long day of Finale Assembly and Dress Rehearsal on Friday.)
