Hey Megan, since you are fillin your freezer I want to share one I double & freeze. Such a blessing when you have a lil blessing in your home!!

Mom’s Lentil Soup

1 lb smoked ham shanks
8 cups chicken broth
1 package (16 oz) dried lentils (2 ¼ cups), sorted & rinsed
4 medium stalks celery, chopped (2 cups)
4 medium carrots, chopped (2 cups)
3 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
2 cups shredded fresh spinach
3 chopped fresh roma tomatoes

Mix all ingredients except spinach & tomato in 4 to 6 quart slow cooker. Cover and cook on low heat setting 8 to 9 hours or until lentils are tender

Remove ham shanks from slow cooker. Remove meat; discard bones and skin. Stir ham, spinach & tomato into soup. Stir well before serving

BTW, this is the coolest thing ever. Didn't know you could do this on a blog.

Megan - this is amazing! I love it.
I second Kelseys cookies. I have a recipe that is almost identical and it's been a family favorite for years! Sorry, but I have no recipes for Amish bread for Jenny.

Here's a question for ya'll: I'm so sick and tired of Amish bread but my boys dig it. I have the recipe that includes a box of pudding. Besides using various flavoured pudding, do you guys have any other ideas of what I could add to change the flavor up a bit?

Thanks!

Here is a photo of them that proves I will never do food photography:
http://quick.holdthatpic.com/images/269587.jpg

Ingredients:
1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
4 tbls Magarine and 4 tbls Crisco. Or you can use 8 tbls butter.
1 1/4 cups sugar
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Confectionery Sugar(about 1/2 cup)

1) In a small bowl mix together flour, cocoa, baking powder, salt.(it works better if you sift this all)
2) In a large bowl cream together butter and sugar. You can use an electric mixer for this.
3)When creamy beat in one egg until blended
4) Add second egg and vanilla and beat until blended
5) Add flour and beat on low just until blended
6) Pour confectionery sugar into bowl and scoop about 1 tbls of cookie dough into your hands. Form a ball and roll around in sugar. Do this until batter is gone.
7) Place dough two inches apart on a greased cookie sheet( I like to use parchment paper)
8) Place in 350 degree oven for 12 minutes
