in conjuction with the 100th Anniversary of Shanghai Chin Woo Athletic Federation,
founded by Legendary GM Huo Yuan Jia

Initial Deposit Deadline: $100 by Sept. 25, 2009 (NON-REFUNDABLE)

(This is a mandatory deposit in order to confirm space & hotel booking. Since 2010 is the year of the Shanghai World Expo, hotel rooms are very tight and must be booked early.) Registrations are strict: If you are not signed up by Sept. 25, 2009, you will NOT be able to attend!
Registration Fees Due:
Remaining registration fee due: $100 ($200 registration fee - $100 deposit = $100 due) by Jan. 31, 2010. (NON-REFUNDABLE)
Event Registration Deadline: Register for competition events by April 15, 2010.
Final Registration Deadline: for changes in registration events is JUNE 1, 2010.
Balance of all fees due by JUNE 1, 2010.
Fees:
Registration Fee = $200 (NON-REFUNDABLE)
-includes event registration fee, airport pick-up & drop-off, USA Team uniform, and souvenir
Event Fee = $70 per person per night (for competitors & officials);
$90 per person per night (for all others C observers, non-competitors)
-includes Opening Ceremonies, tournament local transportation from hotel to venue, hotel accommodation (2 persons per room), full meals(B,L,D), Banquet, tour, interpreter, Closing Ceremonies)
-Total event fee for competitors & officials = $70 * 6 nights = $420
-Total event fee for other participants = $90 * 6 nights = $540

Group A: 12 yrs old & under (born after Jan 1, 1998); male & female are in separate divisions
Group B: 13-17 yrs old (born between Jan 1, 1993 and Dec 31, 1997); male & female are in separate divisions
Group C: 18-35 yrs old (born between Jan 1, 1975 and Dec 31, 1992); male & female are in separate divisions
Group D: 36-55 yrs old (born between Jan 1, 1955 and Dec 31, 1974); male & female are in separate divisions
Group E: 56 yrs old & above (born before Dec 31, 1954); male & female are in separate divisions
*Age will be examined (passport and signature). Competitors with false age information will be disqualified.

-Each competitor can compete up to 4 events C 3 regular events and 1 performance event. One of the events must be a Chin Woo form. (If you do not know a Chin Woo form, we can teach it to you via video or by visit. Please contact us for details. )
(You can also sign up for 1 Chin Woo form, since it is required, but decline on the day of the tournament so that you still have 3 other events. Of course, USA Chin Woo would like for you to learn the Chin Woo form.)
-Group Events must have 6 people. There is no restriction on pattern, content or music.
-Time limit for all forms except Tai Chi is 40 seconds minimum and 2 minutes maximum.
-Tai Chi events must be within 4 minutes. At 3 minutes, head judge will blow a whistle. Form may be simplified to fit the time limit.
-Group events should finish within 4 minutes.
-Point deductions:
If time is under by: Then point deduction will be:
2 seconds 0.1 point
4 seconds 0.2 point
Over 4 seconds 0.3 point maximum
If over the time limit by: Then point deduction will be:
5 seconds 0.1 point
Up to 10 seconds 0.2 point
Over 10 seconds 0.3 point
-Competitors must wear Chin Woo traditional uniforms and soft shoes for Chin Woo competition events.
-For other events, competitors wear appropriate martial arts uniform.
-Competitors must have hard weapons for traditional events. All competitors need to bring their own weapons, or they may share among team members.
-Competitors are responsible for their own personal insurance.
-Organizer has the right to combine events if less than 3 competitors.
-Rewards are given up to the top 8 competitors.
-Top 3 competitors are awarded Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals and certificates.
Calligraphy (Chinese Brush) Competition:
Date: Aug. 6, 2010
Divisions: -Group A: Asians, all ages & gender together
-Group B: Non-Asians, all ages & gender together
Awards: Top 3 awarded Gold, Silver, Bronze medals & certificates
Competition: Competitors will write the following 8 characters in traditional Chinese (not simplified)

One can compete in the Calligraphy competition as well as the martial arts competition, or one may compete in the
Calligraphy competition by itself.
Participants need to bring their own brushes.
If you are interested in competing in Calligraphy, please start practicing and preparing now.
Shuai Chiao (Chinese Wrestling) Competition:
Date: Aug 6 -7, 2010
Groups: Male divisions: 52kg, 57kg, 62kg, 68kg, 74kg, 82kg, 90kg
Female divisions: 47kg, 50kg, 54kg, 58kg, 63kg, 68kg, 74kg
Awards: Top 3 awarded Gold, Silver, Bronze medals & certificates
Each country is allowed 1 or 2 teams (maximum of 2 teams). Each team can only have 2 players
in the same weight level.
If you are interested, we will send you the detailed rules.
If you are competing in Shuai Chiao, you cannot do the other martial arts competition.
Other Info:
All participants (competitors, officials & observers) are responsible for purchasing their own air tickets to China.
Make sure you arrive on Aug. 3 in Shanghai.
All participants are also responsible for having a valid passport and acquiring their own visas.
Make sure your passport is valid 6 months before your departure date.
