I would just like to say a big THANK YOU for giving parents another way of communicating with others! Being able to ask questions and express our concerns via your Forum/Discussion I think, will make it a lot easier to find support from other parents and people that live and/or take care of children with special needs and/or chronic health issues. I am looking forward to meeting, discussing with and hopefully supporting parents like myself! Partners In Health is a wonderful program filled with very caring people. I don't really have a question in particular, I just wanted to say Hello to you all, and Thanks again :)

Hi, Lucy and to all the other parents! For some time, I have been discussing with Janice Boudreau the idea of forming an in-person parent support group. If needed, child care could be provided while we meet, perhaps once each month. Would anyone be interested in this? Personally, I would love to connect with other parents of kids with chronic health issues so that we could support, teach and learn from one another, as well as form new friendships. If you are interested, please post what days and times would work best so that we can work on forming such a group.
Thanks,
Stacey Sweet

YES! would love to! As time is so hard with the little ones.. other than school days! I could do Tuesday at 6:30 on, and every other Fridays (starting with next Feb. 13th, 09). My little one has been ill 12 days now, so just hoping this will be it for the Winter! And snow would be ok, as I think I can make it to Comm. Bridges :)
Hi All and Stacy.
Thanks so much - sounds great!
Lucy

**This post regards compound medications, mainly "Actigal"**

First of all, I want to express my COMPLETE frustration with the state after receiving an email detailing the situation that is now presently going on regarding compound medications. There was an 800 number left at the bottom of the email and when I attempted to call it SEVERAL times, it rang and rang and rang and rang... about 20 times then hung up. So the next step was to call all the pharmacies that were mentioned by others who supposedly filled compounds and who supposedly still took medicaid. Please keep in mind, this information is dated in June 2009. I'm SURE it has changed since considering the pharmacies are now only being compensated $1.75 to make such compounds.

After calling the list of pharmacies below, here's some interesting facts I thought you should know... first, the list of pharmacies is getting smaller and smaller, (back in June 2009).

Hannaford in Concord does NOT do compound meds

Rite Aid on N State St. does SOME compounds, but NOT Actigal, But DOES take Medicaid (as of June 09).

Target, does SOME compound meds, but does NOT do Actigal and DOES, at this time, take Medicaid. (6/09)

Rite Aid on South St. does SOME compounds, But NOT Actigal and does NOT take Medicaid patients since they stopped paying for the time involved for making the compound.

The ONLY CVS in NH, and I mean only (I called them all) that makes Actigal (a compound) is in Bedford NH. BUT,they do NOT take Medicaid. In my case they don't have a contract with my insurance company so therefore I would be stuck with the entire bill, costing over $120 for a 30 day supply.

See the trickling effect that's going on? This was in June, shortly after Medicaid stopped paying the reimbursement fees to make compounded medications.

Thank you Sherry I would really love others to respond to this and their experiences. I was speaking with a local welfare director who told me that it is not always possible for local welfare to assist with these medications. Any medications that are in need of being funded on a regular basis can present a problem. Also some welfare directors will deny based on the fact that the"state" is denying
