Muy bien !! do you teach over skype ?? since moving back to Scotland i've only been able to type Espanol to friends and actually find it easier to write. I have a good grasp of the words and vocabluary as living in Spain taught me fairly quickly but was afraid i would lose what i've learned. I would describe my spainish as very intermediate but can hold down small conversations. Once again i thank you for taking the time to teach me more.I look forward to hearing from you. Gracias

Enrique, thanks a lot for the link. I bookmarked the site and I am sure I will use it. Thanks again.
The most remarkable events during my first two weeks of teaching:
1) One battle with plush animals in the 4th grade. We were learning the order Catch! For ex. Catch a ball! Catch a teddy! I brought some plush toys to the class, I threw them to children saying Catch! Then I took more toys at the same time to the game - and the situation become out of my control suddenly :-)! But I was the winner, in the end!
2) During the lesson with the 1st grade all children went to the toilet at the same time. I was standing in the hall, in front of the toilet doors, saying: Children, hurry up, the lesson continues! :-S
3) With small children I had to SING!!! :-O Me and singing..ayayay! But all was fine, later I heard them in the stairs singing "Hello, How are you? .. I´m good, I´m great, I´m OK..." by themselves. My first real teaching success :-))
Bye, J

Hello Everybody:

I was sitting here spaced out looking at my computer, and memories from my High School days came to mind.

I had a great English teacher, a Canadian fellow.

I remember him telling us about people's personal vocabulary.

He began by saying was the language with the most ex tense vocabulary with about 500,000 words
Followed by Spanish with about 350,000

He went on saying that Shakespeare had about 150,000 words in his personal vocabulary, and Harry Truman about 75,000. He was known for his good vocabulary.

There are 3 vocabularies:

When we READ
When we WRITE
When we SPEAK

It will be interesting to know how extense is our own personal vocabulary.

Most english language programs consist of about 2,500 words
