See you guys soon!

DIRECTIONS TO WASHINGTON COUNTY EQUESTRIAN CENTER! From anywhere east of chipley, fl., go west on I10 to the chipley exit, go left (south) on hwy 77 for about 16 miles, past Sunny Hills, look for signs on the right for the equestrian center, turn right and it's a little ways back. YOU CANT MISS IT!
Shooting match starts at 4PM. We plan to get there about 2PM to set up, meet and greet.

Went to the exhibition in Chipley and that was the most fun and unique riding of horses I have seen in a while. Am going to actively persue your ventures and may try to ride. I discussed it with my horse on Sunday and needless to say he didn't seem to thrilled but he is a quick learner and wants to please. So we will see!!!! Will be there Saturday in Marianna. Again, Thanks for a fun day.

Glad that you came!!!!!!! I think that it is the most fun you can have on a horse. We have been doing this with the Panhandle Peacemakers since the club started. We love it. We will be shooting Friday night and my husband will be shooting on Sunday. Hope to see you there!! As for your horse if you try not to shoot near his head and take your time you'll be surprised how they seem to take to the game.

It was great! Weather was perfect, sunny and cool. We had 15 riders (4 were volunteers from the mini clinic that Ed presented. The Horse Fair was very well attended, I would say more than 100 people in attendance. We really missed you guys though. Just wasnt' the same without you. They have asked us to come back later in November for their first Santa Rosa County Rodeo. We are considering it. They are also giving a donation to Teen Challenge through our club.

WOW!! Just checked out the new website -- Awesome! The pics really turned out great, didn't they? Moving to the outside arena really made that match -- I for one had a great time. Oh, and did I mention I had a 17 second run?? :0)

By the way -- I was checking out the Florida CMSA message board and see that Mike Duck was a victim of carbon monoxide poisoning at the shoot out in Texas and is/was in a coma. The most recent post I saw said there was some improvement today, but it was not clear if he has regained consciousness. Apparently, he was sleeping in his trailer when this happened, so everyone be sure the batteries in your dectors are good(!!). We all need to keep Mike and his family in our prayers. Too-da-loo --

Ok everyone please don't forget about the Boys Ranch Benefit coming up December 13th in Bonifay, Fl. This is for a very good cause and I know it will be a great time too. Even though it is a non-sanctioned match there will be prizes to be had. Even heard through the grapevine that Susan Henning is going to donate a custom made set of holsters. She makes beautiful stuff folks! Many of the top shooters in the country use Susan Henning’s holsters. So far I have heard about lots of other prizes donated.....horse pads, girths, mugs, picture frame, bridle.....just to name a few. So everyone please click on the link on the front page of the website and get registered! www.floridamountedshooting.com

If you can't make it and would like to donate to the boys ranch you can just donate $$$. There is information on the flyer as well for sending donations and I can promise they will be greatly appreciated and I believe tax deductible. I know FCMSA received a 501 (c)(3) letter for the amounts we paid to the boys ranch this year.

Hey make it a good time. Double up on those trailers and save the fuel, share horses to save stall money....whatever it takes! If you can come help support the Teen Challenge Boys Ranch! I promise it will be a great time. And don't forget we will have a BBQ dinner Saturday night for all.

The Panhandle Peacemakers have a Perfect opportunity to spread the word and show prospective new members what a great and fun family sport, Cowboy Mounted Shooting is. We need all the shooters we can get, to participate on Sunday,18 January. The event will be held at 12:30 at the Cowboy Church Arena just outside Eunola, Alabama. Max will have Cowboy Coffee and we'll have a fire going to help stay warm. We look forward to seeing everyone there. Bar-B-Q sandwiches will be free to all shooters and complementary hand warmers will be available upon registration. See ya'll there!
Here are some directions from Bonifay:
- From Bonifay head north and turn left on 177A
- Continue straight across HWY 2
- At the Alabama state line the road number changes to 53
- 53 will run into Co. road 4, turn left and go approximately 2-3
miles till you see Ellenburg Septic Tank Service on your left just before a 90 degree left curve in the road
- At the curve turn right on Geneva Co. 6 and about a half mile down
you will see the Cowboy Church Arena on your left.

p.s. Ed will be preaching at 9:00 before the shoot.

Just wanted to invite everyone to our trail ride and BBQ on March 15. Last year was great and hope that everyone can come. I'm going to make BBQ and cook some burgers thought that I would make Potato salad and if anyone wants to bring something that will be great. Let me know if you are coming so I can be sure we have enough for all.

Hey, it was great seeing all of you guys in Jacksonville. Dennis and Lily, thanks for being so kind to us. I am certainly happy at the fact that Denise and I were able to make some new friends. You guys are wonderful. Thanks for the trailer tips. Panhandle Slim, as usual it was a pleasure to see you and your wonderful wife. It was very clear to anyone in Jacksonville that we Florida shooters are a very tight knit group of folks. Kinda like family huh? Well, everyone please be safe and as usual take care of each other and be kind and pray. Al

Panhandle Peacemakers would like to announce that registration for our Teen Challenge Series begins April 1st. This three part series will take place May 15th – 17th, September 18th-20th, and October 2nd –4th. Each three day event will consist of four double points matches in a single weekend. That’s right, FOUR matches in a single weekend! The first match will be on Friday night, with two matches held on Saturday and one match held on Sunday. Due to the logistics of this new format, entry is limited to the first 50 riders who sign up.
As many of you know, Panhandle Peacemakers is a not for profit organization, and all funds in excess of match expenses are donated to Teen Challenge Boys Ranch in Bonifay, Florida. Our goal for 2009 is to raise $6000 for Teen Challenge. We invite you to be a part of this effort.
The match flier and online entry form are posted on our website, www.panhandlepeacemakers.com. Please contact me at panhandlepeacemakers@yahoo.com or 850-593-6843 for additional information.

well, we did it! the first of the three part teen challenge saddle series is in the books. i want to thank all of the mounted shooters who came to support us by competing and helping with announcing, range master, score keeping, and all the other chores at this event. we had lots of "gophers" who pitched in and made things run smoothly. i won't name you all, but you know who you are. your efforts are extremely appreciated.

thanks to woody and carmella, saddles tack and trailers mercantile, for setting up shop and for generous donations.

we had some move up wins and qualifying wins to make the trip worthwhile. i will try to post all that info later. results should be posted soon.

thanks again for all the support! it was great!

Dearest northern Shooters, (Ed, Kathy, and the rest of you happy handle folks)
The Roofcat has been self-appointed to the mounted shooters hall of fame. He is a legend in his own mind (small place they like him there) and after a lot of pleading he has decided to appoint himself to Mr. Mounted shooter 2009 complete with calendar and his own fantasy trip to North Florida to kick some “handle folk tail. Therefore, let there be no mistake when he arrives everyone else will be riding for second place.
Can't wait till sep.

so good to hear from you, newly tamed barn kitty. the ponytail rider must have increased your portion of fancy feast. i guess i should have listened a bit more closely to my uncle bully, an old cracker cowboy from okeechobee county. he told me long ago, when you whip a fella, whip him good the first time or you may have it to do over again. it will be a pleasure to panhandle it to you some more.
Roofcat  119
06-14-2009 08:21 AM ET (US)
Dearest slim shaky,
The “Kitty” is loose, let there be no misunderstanding. I will bet if you were to ask the old cracker he would tell there is two exceptions to the “whip em good” policy. One of them is if it is a Marine (they can’t be beat, they must be killed) the other is a Cat they can’t be herded, trained to command, or beat to submission, they will always come back to kick you’re a$$, that is just the way it is. So talk your trash if you must, the Cat is back you’ll start cuss before its through you’ll see the truth is Cat the Man to get er done
