SB, Thanks for the weblink. I've added it to my favorites. It has a little something for everyone. Video streaming too.

I just found this link to the US Conference of Catholic Bishops' Web site. It has some wonderful activities for Advent.

SB, you are so kind to reach out and chat with me. I get confused quite often, that as an aside,....Sometimes I think of this site as a chat room like when Fr. Thompson posted those lovely pictures of his beautiful grand nieces.

I guess it really isn't suppose to be a chat room but it is so nice to have someone to share with. You know the song...People who love people are the happiest people in the world.

Well, as you know I am smart enough to look up the Thanksgiving Mass time in the church on line Bulletin, But you have really made my day by taking the time to respond. And then for all my mischevieousness you went ahead and posted your remark about sharing customs and prayers.

God Bless You SB!!
Marie

That's what I figured, and why I suggested the Magnificat book, since you asked for prayers, etc. for the days leading to Christmas. It costs less than a latte, and is a wonderful personal scriptural guide to Advent. It's not about shopping or gift giving, and neither was my suggestion.

Thank you SB...but I really want to ask our parishioners how they prepare for Christmas besides the customary shopping and gift giving.

CTL--go by Divine Mercy Bookstore and pick up a copy of the Magnificat Advent Companion. They also have other information about Advent there that is useful in preparation for Advent and Christmas.

Jr. Thanksgiving Day Mass will be celebrated at 9:00AM at St.Mark.

This Sunday is the first Sunday of Advent. Can anyone share different customs or prayers done during these days leading to Christmas?

I am sorry I have held the forum hostage. By the way, anyone out there in St. Mark land know how to delete these entries?

Phantom, please be mindfull that this forum is for the benefit of the church with the purpose of promoting the faith and encouraging conversion of heart. You, appear to be a deeply troubled soul searching for some fast easy entertainment.

I suppose there are worse sins then upsetting the apple cart so to say on the "Open Forum 2" but given all the gifts and talents bestowed on you by your maker one would hope that you would find something more productive to do with your free time. Perhaps, you could spend some time in prayer or reflection on the scriptures.

Father Thompson,

On the St. Mark website this link is advertised as "Here is your chance to ask Fr. Tim a Question" So here it is........

I've noticed a flurry of activity of late on this site. I just wanted to comment that I think it is grand to have a site available to promote our Church and faith.
Has anyone signed the Manhattan Declaration? I think that is the correct wording. I am going to go do a google search and then maybe some of the computer experts from St. Mark's , can figure out how to paste a link so that the number of signatures can become astronomical or whatever.
