You neglected to mention that the Queen grants Honorary Knighthoods only to US citizens because she obviously knows that Americans cannot accept titles.

Engelbert Humperdink and Paul McCartney are not American but English. (Humperdink is Anglo-Indian to be exact but a British subject). Also, Humperdink hasn't been knighted anyway - at least not yet!

I dont mean to be picky, but Paul McCartney is listed as an American that was knighted. I am reletively sure that he is not American. Thank you for the list. I did find it interesting though.

I would like the Queen and the Kingdom to recognize the honorable, steadfast and accomplishments of [first name, middle name, last name] from Green Bay, WI and rightfully honor him with a title of being 'Sir' [first name, middle name, last name]. I do not know how to go about bring forth or suggesting to the Queen how to do this.
I do realize that there are perhaps many men that women will suggest such honors should be granted from the Queen. But, I also realize that few men are as honorable, dignified and respectful of women in this Country, USA, as him. I am a sixth generation 1840's Scottish emigrant from Glasgow, Scotland. I am the only child and the only one in my surviving family that knows thee family genealogy other than my deceased(1982)paternal grandfather. I 'am' the only child, female of fifty. I was blessed with a paternal grandfather that truly loved me and tried to protect me as did his mother. She died in 1972 and he ten years later. My paternal grandfather's only sister died a year after him. She was, as many woman have been in history, responsible by action for having carried down genealogy on their families life tree. Now I do genealogical research for me and me alone. I do it to gain strength from what my paternal grandfather was trying to share with me. My paternal grandfather was so darned proud of his last name and his mother too. I have had the opportunity in my lifetime view and interact with a few mother/son relationships and know that my grandfather's and his mother was extremely healthy and normal, as was my grandfather's relationship with is only sibling/sister who worked for the US Air Force and later retired after having worked for years with the US Postal Service in Kansas.
who was a wonderful true English woman by the maiden name of Holmes (her mother's name being Nancy Jane Murdock). I realize that I am getting off track herein but would like to know how I could somehow find a way to put the consideration in front of the Queen to recognize (first name) as a 'Sir'.
On a personal note, he is such a wonderful person. Despite all the hoopla that I've been through he has always managed to be strong and there for me. Just being there for 'me' is not why I believe he should be deserving of such an honor. He has been there for many, many, many people.
He recently finished up an HBO special that aired on December 11th, 2010.
How do I get my Gentleman friend Knighted? ?????????????????????????????????

I was unaware that entertainer Engelbert Humperdinck was knighted. He certainly deserves to be. Can you tell me when this honour was bestowed upon him? Many thanks.
